A small step for D....

...is chaos brewing for me.
Well, not really. Am exaggerating a wee bit. But it will get a lot more active from here on.

Daniyal has been moving in spurts. I mean that literally. And no, I wasn't looking to write "growing". "Moving" is correct. Bear with me while I explain. He was commando crawling in reverse for the longest time. So long, in fact that I had given up hope on him crawling at all. Then one day he spent an endlessly long hour practicing lunging, panther style, without actually breaking forth into anything. Not even a sputter. It was essentially just a bum moving, up and down, up and down, with all the lithesome-ness and finesse of a hippo (the pamper does add a little bulk). And then suddenly, woe behold, he leaps into a co-ordinated foxtrot of knees and ankles and is suddenly crawling. Of course, there was no looking back thereon. So off he goes, trudging his little behind in the most coquettish of sways (if that word can be applied to little babies).

But come this last week, he's been wanting to stand on his own two legs and yesterday he heaved himself up and looked the world in the eye, as a man (baby).

The only catch now, is that he hasn't learnt how to come down on the bum. So once the legs grow tired, he begins calling out to someone to help him be softly deposited onto more cushy areas.

Its rather cute to watch. Here he stands ordering the gardener outside to do a more even job on the lawn.

I mean no disrespect to Daniyal's persuasive, critical expression, but I don't think Manzoor lent my little one much weight!
